MMC Laboratory receives accreditation

The Laboratory Department at Murphy Medical Center recently received a deficiency-free accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Accredited since the early 1990’s this continuing accreditation acknowledges the consistent high quality work of the laboratory staff at Murphy Medical Center

Lighten Up Challenge

Murphy Medical Center kicked off its eight-week “Lighten Up” Challenge to the Cherokee County business community this past Friday. “Lighten Up” is a combination of exercise, healthy diet plan and education to help employees find their way to health.

Murphy Medical Center Certified Nurses

Ten registered nurses from the Medical Surgical Unit at Murphy Medical Center have received certification in Medical Surgical Nursing from the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses.

Murphy Medical Center Foundation’s Board of Directors recently welcomed Turner Guidry, Melanie Hughes, and Jeff Martin, M.D. as members.  At the board’s Annual Meeting on May 6, Hughes was also elected Treasurer.
