Hospital Facilities

Murphy Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Murphy Medical Center has 61 physicians on its medical staff and includes a 57-bed hospital, 120-bed long-term care facility, 14 bed Alzheimer’s Unit, Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency. The organization currently employs over 700 people, making it the largest employer in the Tri-state area. 

Built in 1979 and renovated in 1996-2002, Murphy Medical Center now offers a new Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Rehabilitation Wing, Same Day Care Unit and Labor and Delivery Department. The Urgent Care Center is located in the large log-cabin style structure on the corner of U.S. 74 and Ledford Street in Murphy. Hours for the Urgent Care Center are 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday. The telephone number is 828.837.4712.
