Murphy, NC – Doyle’s Cedar Hill Restaurant in Murphy is hosting a two-night dinner and music event to raise money for Good Shepherd Home Health & Hospice Agency, owned and operated by Murphy Medical Center. On Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 Doyle’s will offer a special menu buffet set up on the covered, heated patio from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for diners to enjoy as they take in local music talent.
"Hospice is an important service because too often families can't provide every aspect of the care that's needed to look after a dying relative,” Doyle Smith said. “Families need encouragement and support as well as medical assistance. Good Shepherd offers a valuable service in providing everything a family needs while caring for their relative. From personal experience, hospice made my good friend's last days on earth as comfortable as possible."
Musician Charles Milne stated, “We’re known around here as Flashback, but on Thursday night we’ll be performing gratis as Musicians Who Care to demonstrate our support of this good cause.”
“Unfortunately, we can’t play for everyone who approaches us,” said Pat List of the band Gnarly Fingers, slated to perform Friday evening. “But we know that having quality home health and hospice services available in our community is vital for our family and friends, and we wanted to be part of that.”
Kathi Osborne, Foundation Director at Murphy Medical Center, said, “Our sincere thanks go to Doyle Smith and the staff at Doyle’s Cedar Hill Restaurant for hosting such a tasty fundraiser for our home health and hospices services. Thanks also to the musical groups Flashback and Gnarly Fingers for donating their musical talents and time. What a fun way to raise awareness and donations for the good efforts of Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency.”
The cost of the event is $40 per person, with profits donated to support Good Shepherd. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Doyle’s at (828) 837-3400.
