Thrift Store Offers More Bargins in Larger Store

Murphy, NC  – In a time when more people are searching for low cost necessities, Granny’s Attic Thrift Store expanded to deliver just that. The retail operation moved from its crowded shopping center location across the street to a free standing building.

“The move went very smoothly with Murphy Medical Center’s maintenance team leading other volunteers,” said Granny’s Attic President Linda Davis. “It only took a day to get everything across the street and into our new space. Then our ‘sorting’ team moved quickly to unpack and set up all our displays.”

Now that the floor space is organized, donated items have been pulled out of storage and offered for sale. More clothing racks were added as well as household items and small furniture.

“The more we offer, the more we can sell, and more money is being given back to those in need,” volunteer Connie Wedel said.
Davis added, “We’re still offering everything at our same low prices. That’s the reason people come in the first place. We’re just glad we can offer more of it.”

Granny’s Attic is open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 200 Hwy. 64 W. next to Subway restaurant. Donations are accepted during business hours.
